As AAPI month is coming to a close I decided to go to an event hosted by A Bunch Of Savages and Asian American Collective. Called The Way WE Move it was a night meant to celebrate the music of our cultures. Official description from the event is as follows:

“The Way WE Move is a vibrant celebration of Asian Diaspora Dance Music for Asian Pacific Islander American History Month. It’s an electrifying evening curated by A Bunch of Savages and Asian American Collective taking over an iconic space in downtown Los Angeles. From the infectious beats of Japanese City Pop to the rhythmic melodies of Filipino Disco Music, our lineup of talented DJs will get us down to boogie.”

Event was held at Soho Warehouse in Los Angeles. I’ve never been to that venue so I was really excited about it. So had to bring my boy Ryan Dungo to go tear that bitch up.

Event was dope and I ran into a couple of my barkada friends. It was a nice change of pace from going to clubs that predominantly play top 40/hip hop (though we got some Ruby Ibarra in rotation that night). I don’t typically go out on Tuesdays but they had that shit going up. So I’ll just leave with a few pictures. These were all taken by Brooke Olsen of Park Agencies
